Position: Energy Engineering Intern
Department: Facilities Management
Location: Facilities Building B

DESCRIPTION:
The University of California, Merced is the tenth campus of the UC system and the first American research university built in the 21st century. It is our priority to assist in achieving the campus goal of zero-net energy and emissions by 2020.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION Duties and Responsibilities: The Energy & Engineering Intern will be responsible for helping to improve and maintain utility records. Primary duties will include:
Develop and improve record keeping system for utilities
Prepare a variety of energy and utility reports on a regular basis
Assist Energy Management with various building automation system tasks
Perform other duties as assigned. May include working with other groups.
Coordinate and work with Energy Management Team as well as Senior Campus Engineer
Track and maintain utility records use for University Facilities
You will report to:
Nicholas Conte, Sustainability Coordinator, who will assist in developing, planning, and implementing the program and will act as a sustainability peer-to-peer mentor throughout the duration of this internship.

MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION a. Currently enrolled at UC Merced b. Strong written and verbal communications skills c. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks d. Ability to complete tasks with minimal direction e. Meet physical demands/requirements for position f. Possess & maintain a valid CDL g. Self-starter, highly motivated, committed to waste and energy reduction h. Advanced Excel experience & MS applications needed DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE a. Database and scripting/programming experience highly desirable b. Knowledge of thermodynamics
